Fair Trade!
We are well aware of our social responsibilities.
Most of our clothes we purchase directly from Nepal. We prefer to cooperate with small local family-operated businesses. Many of our nepalese partners are socially very committed as well. For instance, our main supplier of wool products pays the school fees for the children of their employees, another manufacturer financially supports the local school.
Although the legal minimum wage was raised in 2013, the monthly income is barely enough to survive on it. Therefore we make sure that our business partners pay their employees significantly higher wages.
Child labor is a crime and is not tolerated by us in any way. Several times a year we personally visit the businesses we work with; those frequent visits and regular controls of the businesses by a local independent nepalese team help us to make sure the working conditions are maintained at a high level.
By mainly purchasing directly from the manufacturers without intermediaries and by avoiding expensive advertising and expensive branding we are able to do fair trading and still offer our goods at an inexpensive price!
A business can only create a good feeling for employees, dealers, as well as customers, if all these parties involved are happy!
